The Irish Jack Rose takes a classic cocktail and swaps Gin for Irish Whiskey. A nice Irish Whiskey has fruit notes that work well with the apple, citrus, and grenadine. Do yourself a favor and make your own grenadine (1/2 pomegranate juice, 1/2 sugar).
1 oz Irish Whisky
1/2 oz Calvados or Applejack
1/2 oz Lime Juice (Fresh)
1/2 oz Grenadine
Combine all ingredients in shaker, add ice, and shake it like it owes you rent money. Strain into a coupe, Nick and Nora, jelly glass, or whatever you have.
