This pre-Prohibition cocktail is a stout, but sophisticated drink with Gin and Brandy as the split spirits. Your choice of gins and brandies (or cognacs) will steer this beverage in many pleasing directions. I used a Ciroq VS Brandy and Hendricks Gin.
GRAND STAND
1 oz Cognac
1 oz London Dry Gin
1/2 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
1/2 oz Lime Juice (fresh)
1/6 oz (barspoon) simple syrup
The simple syrup can be 1:1 or “rich” 2:1, to your preference. Pour all into shaker, shake until chilled, and strain into coupe glass.
